Sang Rem is a former refugee from Chin State, Myanmar/Burma. Sang and her family migrated from Myanmar to Malaysia to the USA from 1997 to 2008. After resettling in Oklahoma, she started learning English as a high school student and went on to complete a bachelor's in Child Development in 2019 and a master's in Family Life Education in 2022 at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. She currently lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Pum Mang and is the Director of Resettlement at The Spero Project.
